King Flow : Can you introduce yourself to our listeners/bloggers please ?
Kaeson Skrilla : I'm Kaeson Skrilla, from Brooklyn, New York.
K.F : You had a strong relationship with JMJ, can you tell us about it ?
K.S : I started out as an artist, ended up family, he was my mentor, brother, uncle. He taught me how to record, perform and navigate through this shady industry. I was taught song formula, cadents and performance. Old school artist development.
K.F : We know that you're from N.Y.C, how is it to be an upcoming artist in the Big Apple ?
K.S : It is what it is, I been here grindin for years so i'm cool with it. We're MC's here in NYC, there's rappers and there's MC's. We're predominantly MC's. I've been signed to Def Jam/Atlantic & SRC/Universal. I'm not the "regular" up & coming artist. I've been here before.
K.F : Can you tell us about your influences in the music industry please ?
K.S : I've been influenced by the greatest ! I'm from Brooklyn (Kings County) home of B.I.G, Jay-Z and a host of others from Whodinni, Big Daddy Kane, Divine Sounds, Ultramagnetic MC's to my mentor JMJ & Run DMC. Oh yeah and Jam Master Jay's from Brooklyn.
K.F : Did you ever work with major artists ? If so, tell us about it please.
K.S : I've worked with Run DMC, Onyx, Flip Mode Squad (Busta Rhymes), Black Rob & G-Dep, Guru (of Gangstarr), Akon, Self Service (Multi-platinum producer), Smash Proof (MTC New Zealand), Kids N Space (MTC New Zealand), Infamous Mobb (Mobb Deep), Starz N.J (D-Block). It's work my G, imma M.C/Rapper, put me in the booth and imma go !
K.F : Can you tell us about your record "Head Splitted" that I'm gonna play tonight in the mixshow ?
K.S : It's a B.I.G sample, I got it on my lyrical MC shit and let it be known who I am and i'll splitt ya fuckin head through these bars or with the handle of this 40 caliber Lol !
K.F : Who's your favorite rapper in the game now ? Who do you wanna work with ?
K.S : At the time I don't have a favorite. I respect Wayne's whole movement, Ross's flow too. But I miss the music ! So I make my own. I Wanna work with whoever gonna further my situation.
K.F : Who do you think are the hottest producers in the game now ?
